  • Fu Wins $1.2M NSF Grant
    CSE Assistant Professor Raymond Fu has been awarded a $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

    This project, entitled "CPS:Medium:Quantitative Visual Sensing of Dynamic Behaviors for Home-based Progressive Rehabilitation," will last for four years. Fu's group will seek to develop a comprehensive theoretical and experimental cyber-physical framework with the intent to advance intelligent human-environment interaction capabilities in synergistic combinations of computer vision (cyber) and robotic (physical) systems. They will concretize this framework by examining individualized rehabilitation with an intelligent, articulated, and adjustable lower limb orthotic brace used to manage a major public health issue, Knee Osteoarthritis.

    This is a joint project by CSE, ENS, and MAE. The grant will be used to support 1 postdoc and 3 students. Fu's two Co-PI's are Dan K. Ramsey from Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (ENS), and Venkat Krovi from Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE).

    "A Linear Programming Duality Approach to Analyzing Strictly Nonblocking d-ary Multilog Networks under General Crosstalk Constraints", by Hung Q. Ngo, Yang Wang, and Anh Le, has been selected as a co-winner of the best paper award at the 14th Annual International Computing and Combinatorics Conference (COCOON 2008). (June 16, 2008)
